The visa will be finished on 7 December 2024 and be replaced by National Innovation Visa.
It is a permanent visa for exceptionally talented and prominent individuals who can raise Australia’s standing in their field. The program offers a migration pathway for individuals with outstanding achievements, particularly high-earning individuals in future-focused sectors.
The program specifically targets high-earning individuals who have made significant contributions in areas that are crucial for Australia’s long-term growth and development.
The Global Talent pathway priority sectors are:
- Resources
- Agri-food and AgTech
- Energy
- Health industries
- Defence, advanced manufacturing and space
- Circular economy
- Digitech
- Infrastructure and tourism
- Financial services and FinTech
- Education
To be eligible for the visa, you must meet the Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) requirements:
- Have nomination
- Meet high income threshold AU$167,500
- Be internationally recognised with a record of achievement
- Be nominated by specified organisations or people
- Meet the functional English language requirements (can be waived)
- Meet the health and character requirements
